Cook time: 50 to 60 minutes
Tear bread into 1-inch pieces and place into large mixing bowl.
Pour bread pudding mix over bread and add milk, melted butter and the egg.
Mix with spoon, folding mixture from the bottom and lifting up. Pour mixture into greased 8"x2" deep casserole dish and bake for up to an hour at 350 degrees F until brown on top.
For added taste, add raisins or pecans and top with rum sauce or vanilla ice cream.
