NIU clears police chief of wrongdoing

December 11, 2009 (CHICAGO) Donald Grady has been reinstated as NIU's top cop, after being put on paid leave two months ago when the allegations surfaced.

Last year, Grady was highly praised for leading his officers into a classroom after a gunman opened fire, killing five students.

An investigation by a special panel into the allegation involving the newspaper editor "found no evidence of misconduct or inappropriate actions."
