E2 owners ask to remain free during appeal

December 17, 2009 (CHICAGO) Dwain Kyles and Calvin Hollins asked a judge to allow them to stay out of jail while their case is appealed.

Last month Kyles and Hollins were sentenced to two years in prison. They were found guilty of criminal contempt for violating a housing court order to close E2's second floor.

Twenty-one people died in a stampede at the club in 2003.

Kyles and Hollins are scheduled to start serving the sentence January 5th. They want to remain free on bond until their appeal is decided.
