Mom killed, son critically hurt in hit-and-run

Charges are pending in a fatal hit-and-run incident from late Monday night that claimed the life of a Chicago mother. Forty-eight-year-old Maria Worthon was struck and killed near Greenview and Greenleaf in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. Her 6-year-old son was also hit by the car and is in critical condition at Children's Memorial Hospital.

The car did not stop, but police caught up with the driver a few blocks away near Newgard and Arthur.
