Brain size may influence video game ability

If you find video games to be too much of a challenge, it could have to do with the size of your brain. Researchers writing in the journal Cerebral Cortex discovered they could predict how well an amateur player might perform by measuring certain parts of the brain.

MRI scans showed participants with a larger area known as the "reward center" outperformed others.

But those who ultimately did best had larger sections deep in the center of the brain.

These areas have been linked with the ability to learn new skills as well as being able to adapt to changing environments.
