A Chicago congressman hosted an ice skating fundraiser Saturday to help Haiti.U.S. Rep. Michael Quigley had planned a hockey game with friends at the Wrigley Field rink. Instead, he used the day for earthquake relief.

Quigley said he'd match donations made at the fundraiser and would contribute at least $10,000.

"The need is going to be pressing for a very long time. We're talking about an overall need of rebuilding Haiti in the neighborhood of $3 billion. But the short-term need-- and we're helping the Red Cross today-- is to help people who have lost their homes, who have nothing to eat or drink, and sanitary conditions that need to be improved dramatically. So, this is a short-term effort to try to help folks who are in desperate straits," Quigley said.

Kelly High School teacher Suzanne Conley came with her class, which raised $500 for Haiti by making and selling bracelets.
