South Side building burns

A two and one-half story building went up in flames Saturday afternoon on the city's South Side.Multiple crews responded to the fire on the 5100-block of South Bishop Street around 1:30 p.m.

At one point, flames were coming through the roof of the building, which the fire department says appeared to be abandoned.

The fire was extinguished by 2 p.m.

A house next door also suffered minor damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
