A suburban teen who was suspended from school for comments he posted about a teacher on Facebook may have his record cleared.

Oak Forest Sophomore Justin Bird posted the remarks at home, using his own computer. However, he was suspended last month. Bird's family considered legal action against the school district for violating his right to free speech.

On Friday The Southtown Star reports that Justin's mother said his suspension will be removed from his disciplinary record if he stays out of trouble for the rest of the school year.

The school superintendent told the newspaper it was not a done deal.
