Some South Side ministers rallied at City Hall Wednesday in support of enacting a living wage for Chicago workers.

The living wage would require big retailers to pay wages plus fringe benefits so workers could afford adequate housing. It would apply to companies with more than $1 billion in annual sales or corporations that receive city subsidies or assistance

The ordinance was passed back in 2006, but Mayor Daley vetoed it, saying it could drive away big retailers.
