DuSable Museum is honoring 20 Chicago area women who have fought for civil rights. The honorees include Rev. Willie Barrow, singer Mavis Staples and Jacqueline Jackson, the wife of Rev. Jesse Jackson, among others.

The women will become part of the 'Freedom's Sisters' exhibit during its remaining time at the museum. It is a touring exhibit that recognizes the contributions of such women as Harriet Tubman, who helped engineer the Underground Railroad, and Rosa Parks, whose refusal to give up her seat on a bus helped spark the Civil Rights Movement.

'Freedom Sisters' will remain at the DuSable Museum until April 4.
