A suburban bus driver accused of being drunk when she drove 50 elementary students home from school has lost her job. The Mount Prospect Elementary District 57 School Board voted to fire 54-year-old Betty Burden.

Prosecutors say Burden admitted to drinking vodka before getting behind the wheel of the school bus last week.

The board also voted to fire her supervisor, Vince Ramirez for allegedly letting her drive despite warnings from coworkers. Officials say two different coworkers told Ramirez they smelled alcohol on Burden's breath.
