An 86-year-old man has been cited in a crash that killed a Chicago teenager who was bike riding across southern Illinois with her friends.

The crash happened Wednesday in Shawneetown. Police say John Hillyard drove his minivan across the center line killing 17-year-old Faith Dremmer and injuring her two friends. He's been cited for improper lane usage.

Dremmer and her friends, Julia Baird and Kaia Tammen, were on spring break from the University of Chicago's Lab School. They were celebrating their upcoming graduation with a bike trip.
