The blockbuster cholesterol drug Crestor is about to become available to millions of people who do not have cholesterol problems. But some medical exerts are now wondering if this is really a good idea.

The federal government says it's okay to have certain people start taking the statin as a preventative before cholesterol trouble begins.

Critics of the move say new research raises questions about the potential long term harm from healthy people taking these drugs.

Recently published studies are now suggesting statins could raise a person's chance of developing diabetes.
