Hospital workers receive promised raises

Employees at Swedish Covenant Hospital got a long awaited pay raise Friday.

Last year, management froze wages to save jobs but promised to make good on pay raises once the hospital turned a profit again.

Thanks to cost savings by employees - like less overtime and turning off unused lights - the hospital is now turning a profit. So when employees got their paychecks Friday they had as much as $1,500 dollars in retro active pay.
