Lunn was returning to her Chicago home from a dance competition when her SUV was struck by an Amtrak train in University Park before 10 p.m.
About 155 passengers were aboard the train.
School officials say Lunn had worked at the school for about six years and issued a statement saying it would continue offering the classes that Lunn taught to honor her memory and spirit.
Canadian National Railway spokesman Patrick Waldron says the crash is being investigated. The company owns tracks in the area of the crash.
The Will County Coroner says an autopsy will be conducted at a later date.
