Just over 70 percent of households nationwide have returned their forms. That's just a point below the return rate a decade ago.
The mail return period ended last Friday but more forms are expected to trickle in through this week.
The census estimated a 67-percent return rate through the mail so the response is better than expected.
Anyone who has not mailed in their form can expect a visit from a census worker in May.
