Data released on American health

April 26, 2010

The Center for Disease Control has startling new data about the state of our health. It shows 45% of Americans or almost half the entire adult population has high blood presure, high cholesterol or diabetes, which are conditions that can be fatal.

The CDC also says each one of these conditions is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease which is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S.

The report also finds 13% of Americans had two of these conditions and 3% are struggling with all three.

One-third of Americans are obese, but the good news is all are conditions that are treatable through lifestyle changes and medications.

It's a message Americans have heard before but don't' seem to be taking in.
