Census workers begin door-to-door visits

Approximately 63 percent of Chicagoans have mailed in their U.S. census forms, but all of those who have not are about to get a visit from a census worker.

Workers began going to homes Saturday trying to get everyone counted.

Chicago residents are advised, if a census worker comes to your door, he or she will have a badge and picture identification.

City officials warn of scams, saying no one should respond to an email claiming to be from the U.S. Census Bureau or give out information such as Social Security numbers, credit card or bank information.
