Cook County, NACA offer foreclosure help

May 10, 2010 (CHICAGO)

On Friday morning, Cook County President Todd Stroger met with a South Side family that almost lost their home to foreclosure to highlight an upcoming county initiative. Stroger says the county is joining forces with representatives from the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America --or NACA-- for what they call a "five-day round-the-clock" effort to stop foreclosures.

"We need to get people out and make sure that they know that the event is happening because we don't want to see boarded up homes, we don't want to see families moving out, we really don't want to see the neighborhoods just fall apart," said Stroger.

NACA will provide foreclosure prevention help, refinancing and loan counseling May 13-17 at McCormick Place.
