Streamwood cop faces charges in videotaped beating

May 10, 2010 (CHICAGO)

James Mandarino, 41, was indicted on three counts each of aggravated battery and official misconduct.

Mandarino allegedly beat a driver repeatedly with a metal baton and tasered a passenger during a traffic stop in March. The incident was captured by the dashboard camera in Mandarino's own squad car.

The tape shows no sign of the driver or his passenger resisting the officer.

Mandarino is due to be arraigned May 27.
