Robbins water restored after main break

Water has been restored after a main break that practically shut down a village south of Chicago.

The entire village of Robbins was without water until about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The main water line into the village ruptured Tuesday.

The break shut down all schools and businesses in the village except for Robbins' fire and police departments.

Officials say the pipe was old, and it was time to replace it.
