It's a sign of the season -- fresh fruits, veggies, flowers and hand-baked goods are available at the Daley Plaza Farmers Market, which opened Thursday.The city-sponsored market runs on Thursdays from 7a.m. to 3 p.m. During the kickoff, the Mayor's Office of Special Events announced the winner of the reusable shopping bag design contest. The Chicago Public School student will get a $1,000 scho9larship. Two runners-up received $500 scholarships.
The 31st Chicago Farmers Market season runs through October and offers a variety of seasonal items.
