Fresh produce in full bloom at Daley Plaza

May 13, 2010 (CHICAGO) The city-sponsored market runs on Thursdays from 7a.m. to 3 p.m.

During the kickoff, the Mayor's Office of Special Events announced the winner of the reusable shopping bag design contest. The Chicago Public School student will get a $1,000 scho9larship. Two runners-up received $500 scholarships.

The 31st Chicago Farmers Market season runs through October and offers a variety of seasonal items.

EBT/LINK services are being offered at Daley Plaza and at other city-sponsored farmers markets:

Tuesdays at Lincoln Square;

Wednesdays at South Shore in the ShoreBank parking lot;

Thursdays on Daley Plaza;

Saturdays at Division Street;

and Sundays at the Beverly market.
