The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released its annual top safety picks.
The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Sedan and 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class were both received high marks for how well the vehicles protect its occupants in a crash. The Buick Lacross and Ford Taurus also made the list.
When it comes to midsize cars, the institute named the Audi A3, Chevrolet Malibu 2009 and later models, and Hyundai Sonata 2011 models as top safety picks.
As for small vehicles, the 4-door Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Volkswagen Golf 4-door models were among those selected for safety.
