Fox family sues Will County over father's arrest in 3-year-old's murder

November 11, 2004 (WILMINGTON, Ill.) The family of Kevin Fox filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday. They claim the Will County Sheriff's Office falsely arrested and imprisoned the 27-year-old after hours of threats, lies and promises of a deal. Fox is being held on $25 million bond for the June death of his daughter, Riley.

The lawsuit says authorities botched the investigation and made mistakes that destroyed evidence.

A Will County sheriff's spokesman says the sheriff's office stands behind the officers and say they did nothing wrong.

Fox's family has offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the real killer. They have also established a Web site called: kevinfoxisinnocent.com.
