This week there's been a rash of gang activity around North Avenue Beach. Police arrested eight people Monday night after responding to a gang- related shooting, the assault of a jogger and a fight. That all happened in a three-hour period along the lakefront between North Avenue and Fullerton.
There was a strong police presence in the area Thursday night.
