The Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters has filed a federal lawsuit against a new state law aimed at overhauling operations at McCormick Place.

The lawsuit claims the law violates the workers rights for collective bargaining.

The Illinois legislature passed the law to try cut costs at McCormick Place and keep trade shows and conventions in Chicago.

Several shows have left saying costs at McCormick Place are too high.
