The president of the Chicago Teachers Union filed a lawsuit Tuesday, trying to stop an increase in class size from 28 to 35 students.

Marilyn Stewart filed the suit in the circuit court of Cook County Tuesday morning. She calls the increase dangerous and obscene.

On Tuesday, Chicago Public Schools released a statement in response, saying student safety is a top priority and no student's safety nor learning environment will be compromised.
