Protesters rally outside Hyatt shareholder meeting

June 9, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Their protest included more than 100 religious leaders, mostly from the Chicago area. They are calling for better treatment of Hyatt workers after 100 Hyatt housekeepers in Boston were recently fired. They were replaced with cheaper outsourced labor.

Hyatt is currently participating in labor contract negotiations.

Hyatt released a statement Wednesday saying: "We fully expect to reach satisfactory agreements that provide our guests with the level of service they have come to expect from Hyatt and continue to provide team members with competitive wages, good benefits, and quality health care."
