The Real Make-A-Wish Foundation says the scam has escalated dramatically in recent weeks. They say the foundation does not award sweepstakes prizes under any circumstances. Also, Make-A-Wish Foundation does not engage in telemarketing to raise money.
Many victims have already lost thousands of dollars due to the scammers. The Federal Trade Commission says if you receive one of the scam calls, you should file a complaint with them.
