US healthcare rates poorly compared to developed countries

June 23, 2010

In this study by the Commonwealth Fund the US was compared to six other countries, Britain, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand. It says Americans not only spend more but get lower quality, less efficiency and have the least equitable system.

The report says the findings demonstrate the need to quickly implement provisions in the new health reform law and stimulus legislation.

The Commonwealth Fund is a non-profit group that conducts research into healthcare.
