Certain green vegetables like broccoli and brussel sprouts may block the growth of some cancer cells.

Ohio State University researchers found a substance is produced when a person eats those veggies and that substance destroys molecules necessary for the division of certain cancer cells.

Scientists found this is especially the case with some types of breast cancer along with prostate, liver and colon cancer.

The study appears in the journal "Cancer Prevention Research."
