A sixth Chicago police officer is charged in an extortion plot involving the city's towing industry.

Juan Prado was arrested Thursday morning when he surrendered to FBI agents. The 11-year veteran of the police department is accused of soliciting more than $1,100 dollars from a tow truck driver in 2006. The driver was secretly working for the FBI.

Prado allegedly provided him with opportunities to tow vehicles in his northwest side police district in exchange for money.

Prado is free on bond.
