Study: Leave baby car seats in car

Baby car seats should stay in the car, according to a new study published Monday in the journal Pediatrics.

The study shows that nearly 9,000 infants go to the emergency room every year for car seat-related injuries which happen outside the car.

Most injuries occur when babies in car seats fall off tables, counters or shopping carts. The authors of the student say part of the reason these injuries are so common is that parents may assume that babies won't be moving around in the seats because they haven't yet developed good coordination.
