Researchers: Biking could extend life expectancy

If you want to live longer, it might help to ditch your car and hop on a bicycle when navigating through city traffic.A European study found the physical health benefits of urban bike riding outweigh the risks bike riders face from accidents and air pollution.

Dutch researchers determined that bicycle commuters would extend their average life-expectancy by three to 14 months versus car drivers.

Their findings were reported in the online journal Environmental Health Perspectives.
