The Secretary of State's office is using a big weekend of racing to crack down on misused disability plates and placards.

Secretary of State police officers have set up a checkpoint in the Chicagoland Motor Speedway parking lot in Joliet to enforce rules regarding the use of the disability plates and placards.

Vehicles parked in spaces reserved for the disabled without a valid placard or plate face a minimum $250 fine.
