The new owner of the complex, Rave Theaters, decided there are simply too many movie screens in the area. In May, the Texas-based company bought all of the theaters in town owned by National Amusements. Rave owners say employees in Maumee will be offered jobs at its theaters at Fallen Timbers, Westfield Franklin Park, or Levis Commons.
Several customers are worried about what's next for the property. Ginger Thompson expresses a common concern: "It's going to be another empty building. We have a lot of empty, vacant properties around Reynolds Corner's / Conant area. What are we going to do with all these empty buildings?"
