Grace period added for city stickers

If you have not purchased your Chicago vehicle sticker yet, you are getting a break. The city clerk's office has extended the deadline for buying and displaying the stickers to July 31.

A $40 late fee will be tacked onto the $75 cost for any stickers purchased after that.

The grace period was extended to allow drivers to replace defective stickers that lacked sufficient adhesive.

Starting August 1, Chicago residents must have a sticker on their cars or risk getting a ticket.
