As the hotel industry works to recover from the recession, hotel visitors say overall satisfaction improved over last year in seven key categories, including reservations, check-in and check-out, guest rooms, food and beverage, hotel services, hotel facilities and fees.
The top-rated hotels in the luxury category are the Ritz-Carlton. For upscale hotels the Omni Hotels and resorts were rated the highest.
The mid-scale full-service award went to Hilton Garden Inn. Drury Inn and Suites rated best among mid-scale limited service hotels.
In the economy-budget category, Microtel Inn and Suites took top honors. And Homewood suites rated best for extended stay.
