Chicago-area doctor biking to Pike's Peak

He's raising money for the Susan G. Koman breast cancer charity and the American Brain Tumor Association. He pedaled out of St. Charles with several other cyclists. But after Friday he'll ride solo. He says he expects to take between 10 and 14 days to complete his journey.

"My original idea was to raise money for breast cancer and about a year ago my brother was diagnosed bith a brain tumor and so I decided to do this trip to raise money for these two charities and here we are today. I've got about 40 thousand dollars raised," said Dr. Bob Maganini.

"It means a lot to me. My brother is doing a great thing, showing his support to fight cancer and raising fund for those battling cancer. It really means a lot to us," said Rich Maganini, brother.

If the long distance bike ride weren't enough, when he gets to Pike's Peak, Maganini plans to climb to the 14,000-foot summit.
