Missing disabled professor found

August 3, 2010 (CHICAGO)

David Hill is disabled and needs a wheelchair to get around.

Hill was on his way home to Brazil when he was reported missing. Police said he was treated at a local hospital for an injury to his ankle. He was later transferred to a rehabilitation center in Park Ridge. A nurse at the hospital contacted police after seeing a missing alert issued and informed authorities of Hill's whereabouts.

Hill's family was contacted and has been reunited with him.

On July 20, Hill was on a United Airlines flight that took off from Seattle and landed in Chicago at O'Hare International Airport. Hill was supposed to continue on to Brazil when he vanished- almost two weeks ago- but disappeared during the layover.

Hill teaches at Universidade Federal da Bahia Savador in Bahia, Brazil.
