All Aboard Diner combines a great variety of dishes with an inviting, family oriented atmosphere. Children will love that meals are delivered right to your counter seat via Train! Illinois Railway Museum

The Illinois Railway Museum is a Museum in Motion using full-size electric, steam and diesel trains. You can watch a little red streetcar clang across Depot Street on the car line, or the thundering steam train whistle past on the mainline, or perhaps the gleaming streamliner whisper by. These artifacts don't just sit there, they move!

Chicago Botanic Gardens - Model Railroad Garden

A family favorite, this enchanting outdoor exhibit takes visitors from coast to coast with model trains, miniature representations of America's best-loved landmarks, and colorful small-scale gardens.

The 7,500-square-foot Model Railroad Garden features 17 garden-scale trains on 1,600 feet of track. More than 5,000 tiny trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and flowering plants of close to 300 varieties re-create the topographical landscape of America. Vignettes of tiny people and animals give the exhibit a storybook feel, while sound effects and a working geyser capture visitors' imaginations.

Museum of Science & Industry - The Great Train Story

The Great Train Story model railroad has more than 30 trains running on 1,400 feet of track, completing the winding journey between Chicago and Seattle. Along the way, you can even help the trains complete their journey with various interactive stations that allow you to help build a mountain tunnel, raise and lower a drawbridge, assist in loading lumber on a train car—and much more.
