Daley: City Colleges should be more selective

August 11, 2010 (CHICAGO) Daley explained that he believes if the City Colleges system is to be a quality program, it has to evaluate whether someone with an eighth-grade reading level should be enrolled.

Daley added that the system can't afford the $30 million price tag for remedial classes.

The amount represents 6 percent of the system's $457.5 million budget.
