Eric Gilford agreed to return to Illinois and face several charges.
Gilford checked into a Wyoming homeless shelter on July 30 using an alias and was captured there August 5.
Police had been searching for Gilford since his wife Kristine was found stabbed several times May 26.
The Downers Grove couple married in February and were expecting their first child. She left him in the weeks leading up to the alleged attack and had been staying with another man in Villa Park.
