The $87.7 million project should be completed by the fall of 2011.
Work was delayed for a few days by this summer's construction strike, but school officials say they are right on schedule for the start of this school year.
Work will continue when classes begin on August 25, but construction areas will be closed off to students.
Once the project is completed, students will have a new learning resource center and new athletic and music space.
