Braidwood Exelon plant remains shut down
August 17, 2010 (BRAIDWOOD, Ill.) The Braidwood generating station is about 60 miles southwest of Chicago. People in the immediate area have heard loud sounds of steam venting from the 2,300-megawatt plant to reduce pressure.
