Exelon and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission say the situation does not pose any safety threats. They were still unsure what caused the Monday shutdown.
Braidwood Exelon plant remains shut down

The Braidwood generating station is about 60 miles southwest of Chicago. People in the immediate area have heard loud sounds of steam venting from the 2,300-megawatt plant to reduce pressure.
