City steps up efforts to fight West Nile virus

Crews will spray the Forest Glen neighborhood on the city's Northwest Side in an effort to fight West Nile virus.

Spraying will begin Wednesday at 8 p.m.

No West Nile virus cases have been reported in Chicago this year so far. But mosquitoes carrying the virus have been trapped in the neighborhood.

The spray is not considered dangerous to people or pets, but it may be a good idea to keep windows closed as a precaution.
