The facility, which has not been named, is located at Sangamon and Adams. It occupies the site of a former infirmary, and includes a fountain plaza, children's play area, a dog park, a viewing hill and an enclosed seating area with native landscaping.
Residents in the area hope to name the park after Mary Bartelme. She was the first female judge in Chicago. She devoted her life to reforming how women and children are treated in the court system.
