3 hurt, 10 arrested in Mt. Prospect brawl

August 21, 2010 (MT. PROSPECT, Ill.) Around 9:30 p.m., police responded to a brawl in the parking lot of 1713 Victoria Drive. Officers say more than a dozen people were involved. Police say three officers repeatedly ordered the group to stop fighting with no result.

Police say they sprayed the group with pepper spray, yet it took several more minutes and nearly a dozen police officers to stop the fight and restore order, according to a Mt. Prospect police press release.

Three people were taken to hospitals. No officers were injured. Elk Grove Village police also assisted in the response.

The adults charged with disorderly conduct are: Mariela Cruz, 43, Arlington Heights; Salvador Nava, 27, Mount Prospect; Jorge Castillo, 36, Mount Prospect; Enrique Banos, 36, Arlington Heights; Laura Castillo, 37, Mount Prospect; and Karina Banos, 34, Mount Prospect. Four teens, ages 13, 16, 17 and 17 were also charged with disorderly conduct. Three of the juveniles reside in Mount Prospect, while the fourth resides in Arlington Heights, police say.
