Search for missing teen called off due to rip currents

August 25, 2010 (MICHIGAN CITY, Ind.)

Two teenagers who drowned Sunday apparently got caught in rip currents while swimming near Michigan City. Divers found the body of 14-year-old Scott Hoover Tuesday. Seventeen-year-old Lorenzo Greer is still missing.

Rip currents are caused by strong north to northeast winds which can pull swimmers away from the shore.

Police will now scour the beach on ATVs in search of Greer.
