August 27, 2010 (CHICAGO) Authorities are trying to find the suspect responsible for a shooting on August 17 in the Heather Ridge Subdivision near Route 120 and Route 21.

Police say a resident was shot and wounded in what started out as an auto burglary. The suspect fell into a nearby pond during the incident.

The gun used in the shooting was later recovered from the water.

Investigators are seeking information about the current or previous owner of the gun. They want to know if the Clerke 22-caliber revolver was lost, stolen, or sold.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gurnee police or the Lake County Major crimes task force.
